Angel apartments

Building Type:
44 new two and three bed apartments
Location:
Stratford
Status:
Feasibility study
Size:
6,000 m²

A feasibility study was undertaken to maximise the number of apartments on this tight urban site whilst creating a dynamic landmark building .

There were many constraints including the Channel Tunnel and Central underground lines running underneath the site.  The 2012 Olympic site is to the immediate west, with an overland main railway line to the southern boundary, flats to the east and a local pub to the north.

We undertook a simple Rights-to-Light study and this lead to a stepped development that wrapped around the site boundaries with planted open terraces for the occupants.
