Community Centre

Building Type:
Adaptive reuse of existing 1960s pavilion
Location:
Radlett
Status:
Feasibility study
Size:
170 m²

We love working with local community groups and here we connected with the local youth group and parish councillors to explore the adaptive reuse of this 1960s public building located in the recreation ground. We spent a few years developing a feasibility design to include facilities for the youth club and other multi-use spaces that could be hired for dance classes or used by other local organisations.

The building was to be completely thermally and structurally upgraded with a new internal layout and external cladding.  Unfortunately for funding reasons the project was not pursued and the building has since been demolished and replaced with some outside exercise equipment.
